ORDER:

          In supersession of the rules issued in G.O.Ms.No.1654, education dt.14.07.1977, the revised Rules regulating the access of the public to the old records (including the records relating to (Indian States) in the Tamil Nadu Archives for the purpose of bonafide Historical research as approved by the Government are appended to the proceedings. They will be published for general information in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.

          2. The Director of Stationery and printing is requested to print 500 copies of the rules appended to this order and supply to Commissioner of Archives and Historical Research.  It is also certified that the number of copies proposed to the printed is the absolute minimum.

          3. This order issues with the concurrence of the Transport Department vide U.O.No.28820/D2/86-1, Dated: 15.05.1986.
