1982 : Electronic Stencil cutter and Automatic Duplicator were introduced for printing the Archival Publications. First time in the history of Tamil Nadu Archives District level Officers were opened in Coimbatore, Madurai and Chidambaram. Microfilm Unit installed.

In G.O.No.521, Public (Spl.) Department,dated 06.02.1950,Proclamation announcing the inauguration of the Constitution of India on 26th January, 1950 was recorded.
